Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League took a massive dent earlier this afternoon after they were defeated at home in a five-goal thriller.
And it has left fans absolutely reeling by the performance from left-back Ben Davies.
Jose Mourinho’s side succumbed to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers, who leapfrogged them into fifth place.
The north Londoners twice led at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before Raul Jimenez netted the winner in the 73rd minute, giving the home side a cold reminder on what it’s like to have a striker fit and firing.
Spurs are now five points from the top four following successive defeats in the Premier League.
Davies played the majority of the match before being substituted for Troy Parrot with just injury time remaining, and here’s how fans have been discussing his display…
There clearly wasn’t anything positive to say about the left-back as he dropped a “disasterclass” at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Other descriptions included “gutless,” “pathetic” and “liability”.

Per SofaScore, Davies lost possession 22 times, conceded three fouls, had 28.5% crossing accuracy and failed to record any dribbles up the field.
A few others questioned the Welshman’s pace as he was described as the “slowest footballer on earth” as well as being the slowest on the planet.
It has led to calls to get rid of him from some sections of the Spurs faithful.
Davies has only just returned from injury, starting each of their last three league matches and it’s clear to see that fans have already had enough of him featuring.
But with Danny Rose out on loan at Newcastle United, he’s Mourinho’s only out-and-out option in the role, unless youngster Japhet Tanganga moves from central defence to play there.
“Never play football again” and “utterly useless” were further comments made from the home support at the weekend.
While a further fan claimed he was finished as a Premier League footballer.
