It really hasn’t been the greatest of seasons for Mesut Ozil.
The former Germany international has struggled to enjoy his best form just like the rest of his Arsenal teammates, and it’s no surprise to see the Gunners floundering in tenth in the Premier League table at the moment.
Ozil has been one of the biggest under-performers for the north Londoners, failing to score a single goal all season, and providing just two assists – hardly the kind of output you would expect from a man who was once the club’s record signing at £42.4m.

After seeing his performance, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the former Real Madrid man, with some suggesting it’s perhaps time for him to leave the club.
A couple of fans appeared to suggest former manager Unai Emery had the right idea with wanting to ease Ozil out of the side.
One supporter of the north London side meanwhile urged Mikel Arteta to give Dani Ceballos a chance instead.
Sunday afternoon’s display effectively typified what has been a remarkably disappointing campaign from the German. Ozil has just not been at the races for the north London side, and it remains to be seen how long Mikel Arteta can continue to place his trust in the 31-year-old.

Joe Willock was brought on for Ozil in the second-half, and he could well be the man to replace him in the starting line-up on a permanent basis. The Gunners academy product started in the side’s victory over Bournemouth in the FA Cup, and Arteta could turn to him in the Premier League now.
Meanwhile, this Arsenal star badly let Mikel Arteta down with a really disappointing display.
